How to Choose the Right Tool
Most upload problems come down to one of four things: the file is too large, too small, the wrong physical size, or not sharp enough. Match your problem to a tool below, and always check the exact requirement on the website you are using.
My PDF is too large to upload
Use the 200KB PDF Compressor. PDFs made from scanned pages are the hardest to shrink, because each page is a picture. If the file stays too large, remove pages you do not need or split the document before compressing.
My photo or signature is above the size limit
Use Resize Image to 20KB for very small limits, such as signatures and small photos, or Resize Image to 100KB for photographs and scanned documents that need more detail.
The website says my image is too small
Some forms set a minimum as well as a maximum. Increase Image Size in KB raises the file size into the allowed range. It changes the file size, not the sharpness of the picture.
The form asks for a size in centimetres or inches
Use Resize Image in CM. Enter the width and height in cm, mm or inches and choose a resolution. If the form also states a file-size limit, finish with one of the KB tools.
I need a larger or HD image
Use the HD Image Converter to convert a picture to HD, Full HD, 2K or 4K dimensions. Enlarging a small image cannot add detail that was never captured.
A quick checklist before you upload
- Read the exact requirement: file size, dimensions and allowed formats.
- Keep your original file. Always compress or resize from the original, not from an earlier result.
- Open the finished file and zoom in on faces, numbers and small print.
- Aim a little below the limit, because some websites count a kilobyte as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024.
- Name the file the way the website asks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which tool should I use if a form says my file is too large?
It depends on the file. For a PDF, use the 200KB PDF Compressor. For a photo or signature, use Resize Image to 20KB or Resize Image to 100KB, depending on the limit shown on the form.
What is the difference between Resize Image to 20KB and 100KB?
Both reduce an image’s file size, but they aim at different limits. 20 KB is very small and suits signatures and small photos. 100 KB leaves more room, so photographs and scans usually stay clearer.
Why does a website say my image is too small?
Some forms set a minimum file size, for example 50 KB. A very small file can be rejected even if it looks fine. Increase Image Size in KB raises the file size into the allowed range.
How do I convert centimetres to pixels?
Use the formula pixels = centimetres ÷ 2.54 × DPI. For example, 3.5 cm at 300 DPI is about 413 pixels. The Resize Image in CM tool does this calculation for you.
Should I keep my original file?
Yes. Every compression or resize can lose some quality, so always start again from the original if you need a different size. Save the reduced copy under a different name.
